Intro:

Masu-Cheura (meat and beaten rice) is one of the simplest, common and most popular snack/lunch for all Nepalese alike. Nonetheless, variation on the choice of meat could be identified according to the area location where you decide to serve your taste buds. In the Kathmandu valley however, buffalo meats might win the decision fight as most ready available, with chicken and mutton right behind it. In this post, we share a version that we prepared of the same delight.

Firstly, heat a wide frying pan and add ghee. Once ghee is melted, you can add some cumin seeds. Then add the meat and cook it until the meat browns. Then, add onions and fry for few minutes. Add smashed garlic, tomatoes and green chilies and fry some more. When meat is done as desired, add the spices and you can either serve it with raw beaten rice (mostly preferred) or as in the above video, add the beaten rice to the pan and fry it until beaten rice becomes crunchy. Once everything is done, you can plate it and add coriander leaves to decorate.
